Read  And  Respond

     After reading this essay “Radiolab Warof the Worlds”,the first reflection is that this essay is really long and difficult .However,I am fortunate enough for reading this event before in chinese .Here goes my own reflections.

     My reflections include three main opinions.The Transcript was so true that too many people believed it.Maybe this event didn’t happen just because of that science fiction.And in 1938, most kids knew this story. It was very popular. More and more people begun to misunderstand the transcript into fact..Why did it take place?One vital reason was that masses who lacked of the awareness to the truth.They couldn’t tell which were fact or which were rumors.Once the first batch masses escaped from their hometown,other people who thought highly of rumors would follow them .Lacking in self-consideration,masses made this mistake bigger and bigger.

The government was to blame for this mass hysteria that initially could be solved very quickly.Opposite government did nothing for that event .Just like what I said in class this morning about the selections.I chose B because I wanted to do something to help more people.I hated that persons who did noting just watching people dying.As individual ,government should take responsibility for hysterias.

Dating back to 1938,many serious events had taken place before.Including World War I and Economic Crisis,some events aroused people's fears.So when the Transcript showed out and spread the news that Mars alien invaded the earth.Masses felt threaten and couldn’t help escaping.Because of the original pains marking in the mind,many people thought anything may happen.

My reflections maybe some mistakes.But in my opinion,I want to tell others what I think for this Transcript.Thank you!
